I haven't faced any dangerous situations. I don't know about night clubs though. Walking alone after midnight has also been safe. People are quite respectful in Malta. I know the uni area best and I haven't noticed any problems there.
Posted: April 6, 2024After covid us Maltese got a bit worried about femicides as males started acting strange but overall police are being visible in streets and makes people feel safe. Bars and restaurants are 100% safe even the people who serve are very helpful.
Posted: March 24, 2024I haven’t lived here for very long, but the men/guys I’ve encountered walking alone have always been great at keeping their distance, making sure to not walk right behind you, even crossing a street to make you feel safe. Everyone is super kind, and I’ve not once felt unsafe walking alone, neither day or night.

I travelled to Malta in 2020. At that time safety was a big topic due to Covid. I always felt safe and St.Julien is a city where a lot of students from all over the world get to know each other and learn English. That was my purpose too in the first place. But Malta really was impressive to me, especially M'dina! And all overall women can feel safe like in other western countries.

Overall Malta was lovely! I was traveling budget friendly so I stayed at granny’s inn hostel and it was clean and safe. I would highly recommend visiting Mdina, it’s a small bus ride from the main city of Valletta but it’s so worth it. I took the buses and despite the language barrier I found it very simple to navigate. The roads are pretty rough though so prep for bumping around.

I think that Malta is a good destination if you’re looking about nice view and some great activities. Visiting lagoon by boat, going to the beach etc. You can also eat at a good restaurant for a cheap price. They also speak English there so no problem communicating with locals.
Posted: April 26, 2024Last year I move to Malta alone. I didn't know what to do with my life and I decided to move there to practice my English. I found an amazing island and a so great people. I had to leave Malta with half of my heart there... But time to move to another aventura... NY!
